Spotlight in Textiles

There is nothing more exhilarating in design than making the big statement. A dramatic, eye drawing visual whether it's done using bright color, sharp contrast, large scale or provocative compositions, it's definitive and always effective. The designs that fail are those in which the creator did not have the moxy to "go all in" and settles for a tepid version of what their heart had originally imagined. Kind of like always wanting to paint the entry wall in that intense lemon, but settling for a bruised banana out of design fear, which I call the chronic beige syndrome. It's no way to live a life.

This is why I love the new Thomas Paul II print collection from Duralee! Known for large scale, modern, two-toned bold imagery, the new cotton prints are done with striking artistry and there is something to suit everyone's flavor. Thomas Paul is a fabulous accessory designer with a highly trained eye. His aesthetic includes renderings of floral and fauna which are vintage inspired and highlighted with striking Warhol colors, therefore making this look so fresh, unlike any other textiles I've seen in the market.
